The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, manufactured between 2004 and 2010, is an executive 2+2 coupe grand tourer designed to replace the smaller 456. With a little over 3000 units built, it stands out as a true 4-seater masterpiece of design and engineering. Notably, 199 of these were equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
The 612 is only the second Ferrari developed with an all-aluminum vehicle structure, following the 360 Modena. This construction makes the car incredibly light and provides exceptionally high torsional rigidity, enhancing its performance.
The 612 Scaglietti name pays homage to Sergio Scaglietti, “the maestro of aluminum,” who bodied some of the most famous Ferraris. It shares the same engine as the 575 Superamerica. Despite the 612 name suggesting a 6.0-liter V12, the engine's actual displacement is 5.7 liters. Nevertheless, it enables the car to reach top speeds close to 200 mph and accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds. In 2007, Ferrari introduced the Superfast robotic (F1) gearbox and an electrochromic glass roof that tints and lightens at the push of a button.
The following year, Ferrari unveiled the One-to-One (OTO) personalization program, allowing clients to handpick a wide variety of options from leather swatches to brake calipers. This program made the 612 available only through special order, ensuring exclusivity. As a celebration of Ferrari's 60th anniversary, a limited-edition variant of the 612, the Sessanta (Italian for “sixty”), was introduced in 2007. Limited to just 60 units, this four-seater V12 featured two-tone paint, quilted leather interior, forged 19” wheels, and an electrochromic glass roof. The Sessanta was offered exclusively to loyal Ferrari customers, making it an extremely rare car.
