The Ferrari selection-sensor is a precision electrical component designed to monitor gear or mode selection inputs and relay accurate signals to the vehicle’s control systems. Engineered for reliability, it supports smooth shifts, clear transmission communication, and consistent drivetrain response. This sensor plays a key role in how the car interprets driver commands, contributing to predictable performance, safety, and long-term durability of the transmission system. What is the selection-sensor? At its core, the selection-sensor detects the position of the selector lever or transmission control and converts that position into a stable signal that the engine and transmission controllers can read. In Ferrari applications, this signal guides shift timing, gear mode selection, and related control logic, helping to coordinate power delivery and safety features. A properly functioning sensor ensures the system receives accurate data for smooth operation and reliable engagement of drive modes. These signals work with other safety and drive systems to maintain consistent vehicle response across modes. Why is the selection-sensor Important? A new or well-maintained selection-sensor helps prevent misinterpretation of driver input, avoids unintended gear changes, and maintains consistent drive feel. Replacing a worn or intermittent sensor can reduce the risk of warning lights, transmission shudder, or unexpected behavior, preserving drivetrain integrity and driver confidence. The sensor acts as a communication link between the driver interface and the vehicle controllers, so quality and accuracy matter for long-term performance, fuel efficiency, and safe operation. Installation Guide & Support To install, begin in a safe workspace and disconnect the battery negative terminal. Locate the sensor in the selector or transmission area, unplug the electrical connector, and remove the mounting fasteners. Fit the new sensor with careful alignment, secure it, and reconnect the harness. Reapply power and perform a basic diagnostic check to confirm proper signaling. If available, a short test drive in a controlled environment helps verify smooth operation. For installation questions or troubleshooting, our support team can provide guidance on fitment and setup. Ensure any error codes are cleared and initialize systems as needed.
